This year we challenged ourselves to think bigger about how we can positively impact our community and came up with the 20 in 20 Giveaway. We asked businesses and nonprofits in need to submit a proposal so we could select one organization to donate up to $20,000 of our Scream Agency in-kind creative services. The selection process was nearly impossible with so many applicants doing great work and in need of help but it was also inspiring. There are so many organizations lifting up our communities and hearing their stories reinvigorated our cause. Though it was tough, our team unanimously agreed that we should award Ray of Hope Cancer Foundation the winner of the 20 in 20 Giveaway.
Ray of Hope is a Colorado-based nonprofit that provides support to local cancer patients in need to help cover costs for food, housing and utilities. They are a smaller nonprofit making a huge impact in the lives of Coloradans suffering from cancer. Since partnering with this organization, our world has dramatically changed due to Covid-19 and the need to protect and help people who are at high-risk from this virus is even greater. The normal means of fundraising through events and corporate giving has ceased and the need for community support is critical.
The past month has been a whirlwind of emotions, fear, anxiety, confusion, vulnerability and helplessness. And while there is still an ample amount of uncertainty, the one thing we do know is that there are local organizations like Ray of Hope, dedicated to helping Coloradans who need our support.
