As a B Corporation, Scream Agency has a goal to get out in our community and volunteer in various ways. Each of us at Scream Agency receives 20 hours of paid volunteer time off through our employee engagement program, Scream Serves.
Recently our entire team got to serve our community together through B Local Colorado and volunteering with Soles4Souls.
Here is a quick recap of our morning spent with Soles4Souls:
Soles4Souls is a non-profit social enterprise, creating sustainable jobs and providing relief through the distribution of shoes around the world. They have distributed over 35 million pairs of shoes in 127 countries. As you can imagine, they receive tons of donated shoes from individuals and corporations alike; and it was our job to sort, match and pack the shoes.
In two hours, we sorted 1,257 shoes, which in turn will provide a family with food, shelter and schooling for their children for one year. These resources are provided through their micro-enterprise program, providing individuals the opportunity to become entrepreneurs and provide for their family. Your donated shoes can help create sustainable living for many in third world countries and extreme poverty.
Want to get involved? You can donate new or gently used shoes at our Scream Agency office or at one of the Soles4Souls many drop-off locations. Or, volunteer, host a shoe drive, or donate money. It’s a great way to keep shoes out of the landfill and help many people around the world.
